John (Jay) Cannon, M.D.

Dr. Cannon is a Family Practice physician who joined PCA in 2000. He did his undergraduate work at Abilene Christian University and completed medical school at Kansas City University School of Medicine and Biosciences. He practiced in Ardmore, Oklahoma before making his move to Paris.

Dr. Cannon is certified by the American Board of Family Practice. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice.

He and his wife have two children. He spends his free time playing the guitar in a rock and roll band and also enjoys hunting and fishing.

“Medicine is pretty much the only thing I ever wanted to do – even in high school,” says Dr. Cannon. “It’s not really a family thing – the only other physician in our family graduated 100 years ago.”
